La Poza Beach and Lagoon

Standard

Dan and I visited La Poza today, a fresh water lagoon and beautiful beach on the outskirts of Todos Santos. We are on a juice fast so did not stop to eat at the restaurant but the menu looks delic 🙂 The path to the beach was a fun little hike over a rocky path in the hills, lots of great photo ops of lagoon and beach. Saw some pelicans, was pretty hot so I guess all other creatures were keeping a low profile to stay cool. Really a nice time, recommend!

Bronko is 11 years old. Not the most aggressive surfer in the pack… but sure wins a lot of points for cuteness and he just might charm the judges. Bronko was born in Spain. LONGSHOT.

Correos De Mexico, shippng is a breeze

Standard

So Dan and I have been here since March and have been shipping about 15 packages a week from our local postal office here in Todos, to destinations around the globe. So far I am happy to report that the service is reasonably fast, reliable, and affordable.  There are three levels of shipping cost and service, International Economy mail without tracking averaging $2.50 USD per package,  the same service with tracking @ $5.oo USD per package, and International Air Mail @ $30-$50 USD per package. The economy shipping takes between two and three weeks to most places, 2 weeks being the average. The air mail takes a week and a half to most places. The tracking is wonderful, the web site is easy to use and a perk for US peeps is that the tracking number also works on the USPS.com web site.

One thing to keep in mind is that here in Todos Santos the postal office is not open on weekends, and occasionally is closed for no posted reason. It is a two person operation 🙂 Also they are closed on most holidays, and there are quite a few of them.

We also have a post office box with them and it is $30 USD for a year. I have received packages from the US and in Mexico pretty quick, and in all shapes and sizes, with ease. I really have to give this Correos De Mexico postal service an A+. 🙂
