Monday Nov 6th, join me at Shakti for our groovy healthy Monday music night at Shakti Bowl in Todos Santos. The vibe is a chic fusion of Baja Bohemian blended with their ORIENTAL menu at night. Pretty delic. I put on a show featuring Singer Songwriters there most Mondays, a tribute to some of the artists in this tiny town that need a place to share their musical work, created for the people that love original, interesting, unique experiences. There is plenty of boogie down time in town, take a Monday to eat something healthy, drink something refreshing and energizing, and be moved by some soulful musical art. And have some fun with your friends, you know it is always a good time.=) 6-8, I always open as hostess, so if you want to catch my set come early ty!
I am in the middle of my second novel in the ZolEros series, it is Novel Writers Month in November so I am busy scribbling away, participating with all my heart this month. The follow up to Poison Apple Witch is called Wave Shifters Starring Hart Locklear and it is shaping up to be a hoot. A Cheeky Space Noir Fantasy. Honestly I write for the young adult crew but anyone can enjoy this light hearted duet of stories so feel free to check them out on my Amazon Author’s page.
Other than writing and performing, I have an album in the oven that releases mid Nov, a soundtrack for the Poison Apple Witch Novel. Super busy with glass art as always, my new necklace line is currently in debut, long bohemian knotted strands with my handmade glass beads. I will be sharing a space at Jill Mollenhauer’s art studio again this February during the Todos Santos Open Studio Tour so am busy in the glass studio working on some fun things to bring to the show for you all.
Here are some of my latest glass works this Fall =)
Super fun coming up Oct 29th, Sunday Sessions at Todos Santos Brewing – I play a set and have special guests Tex Mex Rex and Ira Evan Nevius Joining. Come and check out all the fun Summer upgrades at the Brewery!
Patrick Jeffords joins me for a show over at Shakti in the Otro lado on Monday Oct 30th, always a rocking time, with an added bonus that Shakti will be launching their new Chinese Food Night to coordinate with Monday Music, enjoy a hot chef slinging hot woks in the front of the house for our happiness, yum.
I will be bringing lots of art to my shows this season, glass heart beads, long knotted bohemian glass bead necklace strands, minimalist glass jewelry on slider chains, framed mono print collages, and later in the season large textured boho style paintings. Been a creative Summer.
ALSO! My debut novel, Poison Apple Witch will be released soon over on Amazon, complete with its own soundtrack album to be released next month. Yes I wrote a light sci-fi fantasy novel, and yes I stocked it full of poetry and lyric fragments from my arsenal, and yes the album to match will be pretty interesting …. excited to share.

Feeling Autumn at Oystera in Todos Santos, BCS, Mexico – Jenelle Aubade
The Summer is winding down and although we still have about 6 weeks left of steamy possibly stormy days ahead in Todos Santos, I am busy setting up a fun musical ride for the upcoming tourist and beautiful weather season here in Baja Sur. Lots of fun dates to share, and also some news.
I will be presenting a new recurring music series in collaboration with Oystera in Todos Santos this year. Starting in November 2022, once or twice a month we will have a Singer Songwriters Night, as well as special stand alone concerts, down in the beautiful garden on Saturday evenings.
This establishment by Santa Terra is top notch, they bring a lot of beauty and fun to our community, and are always curating fresh and fun events for everyone along with their fine dining and cocktail specialties. Come for a great meal with friends and family, then settle in for a couple hours of sweet original music down in the garden featuring both local and International artists.
Here are some of the upcoming shows, more TBA soon!

Art buffs, Summer buffs, Mark Gabriel buffs, this is your jam. I recently had the joy of attending the new art show opening at Galleria Militar in Todos Santos, Baja Sur, Mexico.
It was a brilliant evening showcasing the new exhibit, LOST DAYS OF SUMMER by the prolific Gabriel.
I will share some photos of the work and event but first, more about the artist.
Mark Gabriel is an award-winning multi-media artist who began his career in the underground comics and fanzine world while bashing away at his bass guitar in punk bands at night. Mark earned his Honors Baccalaureate Degree in Illustration from Sheridan College, graduating top of his class. He continued to developed his signature style working in book and magazine illustration before a career in film widened Mark’s palette. As muralist, scenic and storyboard artist, concept illustrator and set designer, Gabriel eventually found a new voice in Production Design, honing his visual story-telling skills over two decades in film and television.
At the threshold of the desert and the sea, Mark Gabriel has tapped into the primal energy of the desert bringing an essential raw power to his art. A series of works called Marine Salvage Rights – where small scavenged pieces of driftwood become sculptural paintings of Flying Whales and Ranchera Musicians, acts as a gateway to large scale renditions of his subjects on stretched canvas and wood panels.
First Blush
Painting subjects the artist describes as dreamscapes inspired by ghosts of the desert and the movements of celestial bodies, these desert and seascapes are inhabited by mythical creature mash-ups of revolutionaries and birds, ranchero cowboys, musicians and stray dogs, as well as the flying “dream whales” of which he has become known. These characters all have stories – they occupy familiar yet exotic geography – they dance, they play, they fight, they love – and they will reveal their secrets if you lean in. Look again, and again as these creatures take form and celebrate the light.
Mark paints mostly with knife. As he scrape’s and slashes the paint – one can see how essential that energy is to his work. Acrylic is also good because it’s fast. The paint goes on thick and wild, then dabs of prevision. And if paint isn’t sufficient to the story, Gabriel employs ink, or mono-print, chalk and charcoal and oil stick. Some of the work requires collage and mixing of all of the above.
Lost Days of Summer is a the continuation of last years Bye Gone Days x Retro Tropical Jetset series by Mark Gabriel, featuring socialites of the tropical jet-set.
This new series deconstructs the memories we have of the days gone past and brings it to present day. These moments will live on and bring life to a whole new cast of characters; like the Starlets in Freefall, the Phoenix Divers… or the boys of summer.
“My interest in the tropical socialite has much to do with half-forgotten memories, the patina’d mirror of our own experience, blurs together with discolored family photos, mingles with glamorous magazine spreads and the silver screen, mixes with rat pack crooners like cocktails made in silver shakers. A dissociative fugue of champagne goblets and Frank Sinatra.”
“She is all possibility. She is human achievement. She is strong. She is free. I’m not sure though, if she is the Phoenix, or the Phoenix is me.”
A few photos of the opening evening, beautiful art, live music (Mehry Iris Eslaminia!), in a lively setting with indoor viewing in the Gallery and an outdoor plaza area with festivities. The event drew a very large crowd of pleasant collectors, fans, and friends.
During Covid I have been laying low in real-time life trying to keep safe with everyone. To keep the music alive I stream a sunset hour show from my home in Todos Santos, Baja Sur, Mexico, every week. Some of my local musician friends join me when they can, past shows have included Lucas Bennett, Zoe Dearborn, Angelina Wolf, and Alf Ea. We are keeping it low key, intimate, and fun. To tune in to the live event on Friday nights (8pm MT) go to http://Facebook.com/JenelleAubadeMusic or to watch the episodes later or get caught up on the series you can do so on FB or on YouTube at http://Youtube.com/JenelleAubade – we do not ask for propina although I do split tips with my guest performers if they come in, and with great thanks, everything helps right now as we all adjust to the current way of life in regards to playing live and how we connect with our arts. I am still making beads every day, melting glass and making music is where you will find me! http://Beadsandbotanicals.artfire.com
Enjoy the entire music series plus prequels in a binge any time athttps://jenelleaubade.com/jenelle-aubade-friday-night-live-show

“When Greater Tuna, a story set in a fictional Texas town called Tuna, was first produced in Austin, Texas in 1981, even the snooty New Yorker Magazine called it “sharp, satiric & funny.” Thirty-five years later, the show is one of the most often produced shows in the history of the American theatre.
You can get tickets at the door but they cost more. – 300 pesos instead of 250 pesos/ You have to prepay dinner, since we have to give numbers to the chef ( Dany) no later than the morning of the show.”
